Fosen Yards is the holding company for the yards Fosen Mekansike Verksteder AS and LandskronaVarvet AB. In addition the properties of the two yards are organized in separate companies, Fosen Industrier AS and Bruce Shipyard Holding AB.
Fosen Yards has since 1962 been in the ownership of the Bye family, but in 2007 7 investors took over the yard. In August 2008 the company was bought by Bergen Group and renamed Bergen Group Fosen and Bergen Group Landskrona.
Presently Fosen Yards employs more than 310 people (670 people, including subcontractors), 250 at Bergen Group Fosen and 60 at Bergen Group Landskrona.
Presently Fosen Yards has 4 ships in production and ordered by ship owners. They are all Offshore vessels of different purposes and design.
Through the experience from constructing RoPax vessels the engineering department at Fosen Mek. Verksteder has developed a ship design for a highly efficient RoPax vessel. The design is called Fosen Optima™.
All together Fosen Yards can offer ship owners a large range of services, providing years of knowledge and experience in creating excellence for ship owners and their charterers/customers.
